We are looking for ESL teachers for teaching positions in Neihu District, Taipei. You don't need to have experience to apply.

Teach students at a private school in Neihu who are between 7 and 15 years of age.

START: September 2024

What are the requirements for this private school position?

  • Bachelor's degree
  • You must be a native English speaker
  • Hold a passport from one of the following countries: Australia, Canada, England, Ireland, New Zealand, Scotland, South Africa and the United States
  • Clear National Background Check from your home country (Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, the UK and the US) 
  • TEFL teachers earn more per hour

What will I earn as an ESL teacher? English Teachers receive the following benefits:

  • Earn a minimum of NT$700 per teaching hour or more. You're guaranteed to work 20 hours per week minimum. (Earn approximately NT$60,000 to NT$65,000 or more each month.)

    are assessed on the basis of their teaching ability, attendance, and general professional conduct.

Typical Job Duties of an ESL Teacher in Taiwan

  • 20+ in class teaching hours per week (This is the minimum number of hours you are guaranteed. Most teachers have 22 -26 hours per week.)
  • Teacher training is also provided and your school will have materials for use during ESL lesson preparation.
  • In addition to your time spent in the classroom you will administer tests, grade papers and participate in school meetings with your Taiwanese co-teachers.

This teaching opportunity is a good choice for those wishing to gain experience teaching a variety of
age groups. It’s also good for teachers who want to study Chinese or have more free time during their time in Taiwan. This school offers plenty of opportunities to pick up extra classes or participate in activities for teaches who want to earn more money for saving or to pay off student loans.
